The method behind the profile: three levels of who you are

Physical, emotional and intellectual: every person is a particular combination of the three.

The chronobiological profile describes a person on three levels. Each level rests on one layer of the brain, follows its own rhythm, and is read through a pair of properties: one belonging to the right hemisphere, the way we take things in, and one to the left, the way we express and act. Every person is a particular combination of the three.

Physical · Temperament

The oldest layer of the brain and the strength of the nervous system: how much stimulation and pressure you can absorb, how you act on the world, and whether your energy turns inward or outward. Twenty-three-day rhythm.

Read through reflection (receptivity, patience, how accurately you take the world in) and activity (excitability, will, the capacity to act and get results). Their ratio gives one of seven temperaments.

Emotional · Love

The old cortex, where emotions and hormones meet: how much emotional input you need to feel secure, how much you give, and how you adapt to the people around you. Twenty-eight-day rhythm.

Read through adaptation, the I-strength (directing your own emotions, emotional memory, keeping yourself steady) and integration, the We-strength (directing feeling outward: empathy, friendship, what you do for others). Their ratio gives one of six emotional types.

Intellectual · Mind

The new cortex, the seat of learned behaviour and conscious thought: the balance between your two hemispheres and how it shapes the way you perceive, plan and decide. Thirty-three-day rhythm.

Read through artistic thinking (intuition in self-knowledge: seeing the whole at once, in images) and logical thinking (intuition in worldview: assembling the parts, in words and concepts). Their ratio gives one of eight intellectual types.
